LLC: Wintertime in Swedish Lapland

 Hi there!
My posts are few and far inbetween these days,  but here’s a card I made earlier this week:This card was posted on the LLC Blog on Thursday, which is Alyce’s day, but since the LLC DT has been showcasing Pion’s new Christmas collection “Wintertime in Swedish Lapland” this week and unfortunately Alyce didn’t get her papers in time, I did Thursday’s LLC Blog Post.
It’s been a couple of months now since I stepped down from the LLC DT; my intention to join in with the monthly challenges hasn’t worked out so far, but now that I “had” to create something for LLC I quite enjoyed it, and it was great that I could get another X-mas card done…only my third so far this year. How many days are left again? LOL

As you can see from the pic, this is a Shaker Card: I cut out the two birds from the 12 x12 Winterbird Sheet. The shaker filling consists of fine white glitter and tiny red beads from my private stash, but apart from that (and the dies used on this card), all the materials can be found at the LLC store. The frame was frantaged with Shabby White and then I scattered some snow-tex on it and on the window panel, well all over the card actually. :-)

The base of my card is one of the fours from the 6×6 Nisse sheet, the middle part is the back side from the 12×12 Winterbird sheet and at the bottom I used the heart border from the Border Sheet. The border was placed on top of  Lace “Désirée”.

The flower display is made up of red poppies, white KOG Hortensias, Wild Orchid Crafts’ roses and frosted berries. In the middle I hung a little lantern charm and attached it with the Tomato Red Baker’s Twine. The wings/flourishes on the sides are Joy dies.

The images are two dinosaur Tildas; they’re from 2007 and I bought them a couple of years ago when I visited the Magnolia store as I’be always find them so charming. The left one, “Tilda with Lantern”, I had actually never used before, whereas the right one, “Homespin Tilda” has been inked a couple of times before.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peak.
Hugz, Sandy
